Frequently asked questions
Without an account, on the website or through MCP: 3 PDFs per IP per 24 hours, 50 MB and 100 pages per PDF, one upload in progress. Publication lasts 30 days; private management lasts 30 minutes. Keep the private link to attach the catalogue to an account before it expires.
Free account: 5 published catalogues, 50 MB and 100 pages per PDF. The website and MCP share 10 upload attempts per 24 hours, including replacements and failures, with only one upload in progress. Views remain unlimited.
Free tier protection: processing is limited to 120 seconds, 512 MB per result and 2 GB of storage per account. Overall capacity is limited; paid plans have priority. If a request is refused, wait for the stated delay without automatic retries.
Unpublishing deletes neither analytics nor contacts. When a paid plan ends, free-plan rules, including the Foliade logo, apply to the five most recent active catalogues; the remainder are archived, not immediately destroyed.
Restoration is free within the five-active-publication limit. The address and password are preserved.
12 months guaranteed, then kept online based on visits. After the guaranteed 12 months, an eligible visit extends publication for 90 days. Archiving requires advance notice; you can also confirm that you wish to keep it online in your account.
An eligible visit combines at least 10 seconds of visible reading with an interaction in the reader. Previews, account managers and recognised bots do not extend publication.
Without activity or confirmation, a 30-day notice and then a 7-day reminder precede archiving. Archiving does not delete your files; republish for free if one of the five slots is available. Paid plans remain active throughout the subscription.

The free reader displays a discreet Foliade logo. Pro adds analytics, the source PDF and the full API. Business adds HTML export, contact forms and a custom domain. Distributor includes 30 users.
API, MCP and automation
With a free account, your application can convert a PDF, publish its link and update a catalogue.
Discovery API: 5 successful conversions in 30 days, one at a time; 50 MB and 100 pages per PDF, 250 MB of stored API packages.
Every successful conversion, including an update, counts towards this quota.
From Pro, the API no longer has the quota of 5 conversions in 30 days. It adds analytics, uploads of multiple PDFs at once and webhooks.
Full API: 300 MB per PDF. Standalone HTML export is included from Business.
MCP is included for free, with or without an account. Codex and Claude Code follow your plan permissions; their own access terms remain separate.
Before each transfer, the assistant checks the account or guest mode and explains the limits returned by Foliade. The draft remains private until you request publication.
Bulk upload converts multiple PDFs from a ZIP archive. The webhook automatically sends the result to your application after processing, so you do not need to keep checking progress.
Both features are included in Pro, Business and Distributor. They are not available with the free API.
