Choose MCP when someone already works in Codex or Claude Code and wants the agent to perform an action. Choose the API for a product, server-side automation, publishing workflow, or batch processing.
An application using the REST API must provide an account key. MCP uses OAuth for your account, or a private token limited to the upload for guest mode.
