Foliade guide Customise
Customise a Flipbook: Colours, Logo and Reader
Customise your flipbook’s colours, background, controls and logo. Compare reading styles in the Foliade preview before saving your changes.
Choose colours and a background
Open your catalogue, then the Appearance tab. Adjust the background, toolbar, icon and progress colours while watching the preview. Choose a solid colour, gradient or image for the background. For a branded brochure, use a main brand colour and keep enough contrast for the controls to remain readable.
Add your logo to the reader
Add your logo, choose its size and position, then enter the link it should open. Check that it does not cover important information on a phone. Customising the reader and removing the Foliade watermark are separate settings: watermark removal is included from the Pro plan.
Set the reading style and controls
Compare magazine, book, presentation, cards, coverflow and single-page styles in the preview. Then adjust visible controls, toolbar position and the opening page. Save and open the catalogue on a computer and a phone. Once you are happy with it, save the appearance as a reusable theme.
Text summary of the video
- The Appearance tab styles the reader. Everything you change is shown live in the preview on the right, which is the real reader.
- Start with the four colours: background, bar, icons and progress. Type a value, or use the picker.
- The background can be a plain colour, a gradient, or an image with blur and opacity. You can also print the title of the catalogue over it.
- Choose which controls appear in the bar. Put the bar at the top or the bottom, in a dark or light tone, or hide it after three seconds of inactivity.
- Then the page-turn prompts, the sound, the opening page and the layout. And pick one of six reading styles: magazine, book, slideshow, cards, coverflow or a single page.
- Add your logo, choose its size and corner, and link it to your website. Save, and the published catalogue takes the new look at once.
Key points
- The light tone inverts the bar and the icons without touching the background or the progress.
- A custom MP3 sound and a tab favicon are available from the Business plan.
- Right-to-left reading reverses the layout, gestures and keyboard for all six styles.
