Foliade guide Share and distribute
Replace a PDF Without Changing Its Link or QR Code
Update your catalogue without replacing the links, QR codes and embeds you have already shared. Foliade keeps the old edition available until conversion finishes.
Replace the PDF file
Open the catalogue you have already shared, select Replace PDF and choose the new edition. Avoid creating another catalogue if you want to keep the current address. During conversion, the old edition stays accessible until the new one is ready. Replacing a PDF counts as an upload towards the free plan’s quota.
Check the link and existing QR codes
When conversion finishes, open the link you previously shared. Check a changed page and search for a word added in the new edition. Also scan an existing QR code and check an embed on your website. Statistics continue on the same catalogue rather than starting again from zero.
Review interactive elements when pages change
If you have added, removed or moved pages, check the table of contents and interactive elements. The remapping assistant helps you decide where to move each area or whether to remove it. Even when percentage-based coordinates are preserved, an area must still cover the correct product, button or heading.
Text summary of the video
- A catalogue keeps the same address for its whole life. To publish a new edition, click Replace the PDF.
- Choose the new file and deposit it. The conversion runs again, and the old edition stays online until the new one is completely ready.
- Links, QR codes and embeds keep working. Readers who open the catalogue now see the new pages, and the search index is rebuilt.
- The Versions tab lists every file you deposited, with its pages, size and date, next to the publication history of your enrichments.
- If the page count changed, the remapping assistant proposes where each element should go: move it with its page, leave it, or remove it.
Key points
- A replacement counts as a deposit against the free plan quota.
- Statistics do not start from scratch: they continue on the same catalogue.
