Collect leads with a PDF catalogue

Add a form to your catalogue to collect readers’ contact details. Choose the fields, the page where it appears and whether completing it is optional or required.

Choose the form fields

With Business, open Lead form in the catalogue and enable the fields your request needs. Email is required; limit other fields to information you will actually use. This form collects contact details in the web reader. It does not turn the source PDF into a fillable document.

Add clickable links and videos to an online PDF

Set the trigger and consent message

Choose the page where the form appears, then decide whether readers may skip it or must complete it to continue. Write a message explaining how the details will be used and the consent requested. Save and test the flow in a browser where no form has yet been completed, including on a phone.

Find the contacts you have collected

Submitted details appear among the catalogue’s recent contacts and in the Contacts list. Check that a test submission arrives before sharing the document widely. For an HTML archive, the form must be active when exported and submissions need Internet access; export again after changing its settings.

Track PDF readership with a link for each recipient

Text summary of the video
  1. A lead form asks readers for their details at the page you choose. It comes with the Business plan.
  2. Pick the fields, with email always required, the page where the form appears, and whether readers can skip it or must fill it in.
  3. Write the message displayed with the form to explain how contact details will be used and the consent requested. Then enable the form and save.
  4. In the reader, the form appears when the reader reaches that page, with your colours. Submitted details are added to your contacts.
  5. The Lead form tab also lists the last contacts captured on this catalogue, with a link to the full list.

Key points

  • A form placed on a zone, in the Enrich tab, is triggered by a click rather than at a page.
  • A reader who has already left their details does not see the form again on the same browser.
